Rev Sam Aboyeji was elected the fifth General Overseer (G.O) of Foursquare Gospel Church which started in Nigeria in 1955.

Born on December 26, 1960, Aboyeji retired in March 2010 from Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Ltd (SPDC) to become a full-time minister of the church.

“The new General Overseer has been the Senior Pastor of the church’s Olu of Warri’s Palace since 2001 and the Warri District Overseer/Mid-West Region Coordinator since 2006 and 2011 respectively where he was rated the best District Overseer of the church for three consecutive years,” Ugbaja said.

“He is also a member of the Board of both the Home and Foreign Missions and the National Executive Council of the church. He joined the Foursquare Church in 1988 and served the movement in various leadership capacities before he was ordained a minister of the church in 2001.

“Rev. Samuel Aboyeji started his working career with the premier stockbroking firm in Nigeria, the Nigerian Stockbrokers Limited (NSL), a subsidiary of NAL Merchant Bank Plc (now Sterling Bank Plc) from 1987 to 1992 where he trained as a stockbroker and licensed as an authorized dealing clerk of the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1989.

“He left Nigerian Stockbrokers Ltd (NSL) to join Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Ltd (SPDC) (Corporate Treasury) in 1992 as an Investment Analyst with responsibility for money and capital market investments of the Pension Fund.

“He was a pioneer staff of Shell Trustees Nigeria Limited where he had responsibility for building and managing its capital market portfolio until his transfer to the Community Relations department of SPDC in Warri in the year 2000.”

Ugbaja said that expectations are high from the church members and the Christian community that Aboyeji will build on the achievements of the church’s past leaders, particularly the work of Felix Meduoye, the outgoing general overseer.

“Rev. Sam Aboyeji holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from LIFE Theological Seminary, Ikorodu; B.sc. (Hons) in Economics from the University of Ilorin; and an MBA in Financial Management and Accounting from the University of Lagos. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and a member of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC),” the statement read.

“He is married to Rev. (Mrs.) Olabisi T. Aboyeji, a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist, who has been in full-time ministry with him since 1993 and they are blessed with four grown-up children – Iyanuoluwa, Iyinoluwa, Ifeoluwa and Ireoluwa.”

Rev Olayemi Johnson Ayoko became the second resident pastor and District coordinator of the Foursquare Gospel Church Yaba, in 2020.

“The resident pastor who became a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church in 1992 has been the Pastor in charge of the foursquare gospel church Etche (1996-1999) and the Minister in charge of the Foursquare Gospel church Rukpokwu (2000-2006). He was the Zonal Superintendent and senior pastor of the foursquare gospel church Mgbuoba(2006-2012). He was ordained as a minister in November 2003 and installed as the missionary District Overseer of Yenagoa District on 25 November 2012 and the state pastor for Bayelsa State.

“He is the District Coordinator for Yaba District (2020 till date) and the ministerial overseer for Internal Ministry, House Fellowship, and the Media Department.

“Rev. Olayemi Johnson Ayoko has worked in several organizations holding leadership and managerial positions such as Deputy Dean at DOF Institute of Catering and Hotel Management (1991-1992). He therefore moved to Nik-Nak Nigeria Limited Port Harcourt as manager (1992-1994). He became the Managing Director of Agape and Synergy Nigeria Limited (1995-2000). All positions he faithfully managed and combined with his ministerial assignments until he received the call from God to go into full ministry which he obeyed and resigned.

Rev. Eunice Oluwatoyin Ayoko became a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church in 1997 and has been the Pastor in charge of the Foursquare Gospel Church Ekeki branch Yenagoa and the Minister in charge of the foursquare gospel church Yenagoa and the Zonal Superintendent of Kpansia zone, Yenagoa District (2015-2020). Rev. Beauty Erhuvwuoghene Osuoha became a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church in 1991. She was licensed as a minister of the foursquare gospel church in 2019.

She is currently a member of the marriage and family affairs ministry. She is also in charge of the Entrepreneurship unit of the personal development empowerment ministry at the Foursquare Gospel Church Yaba.

Pastor Simon Adedoyin was appointed the Ministerial Overseer and the Pastor in charge of the Children’s Chapel in July 2019.

Born on November 1, 1975, Simon has been involved with the Children’s Ministry since 1991 when he was a teenager.

Uncle Simon as he is fondly called has served on several committees both at the Local church and National level and has been involved in church planting as a youth in this church. While working in the children’s ministry, he was also involved in Junior Hi and Senior Hi Crusaders. He was Evangelism Secretary and Vice President of Senior Hi Crusaders in 1996 and 1997 respectively which had evolved to today’s Teen’s church.

Pastor Simon has been involved in the Children’s Ministry at a local level, District level, and National level. He was a one-time National Bible Club Coordinator, Mission and Evangelism Coordinator, and Assistance National Children Ministry Coordinator. He is currently the Yaba District Children Coordinator, National Children Mission and Evangelism Coordinator, and Head of ICT in the National Children Ministry.

Pastor Simon started his working career with 21^st Century Technologies Limited, Lagos as an External Line Plant (ELP) Engineer in 2005 and later joined Yaba College of Technology, ICT unit as a specialist in charge of the Fiber optics network of the school in 2011 and till date. He also does ICT and Solar energy consultancy and management.

In 2004, he received his HND degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from Yaba College of Technology, and in 2015, he graduated with a PGD from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Ogun State and then proceeded for his M. Eng degree in Information and Communication Engineering where he graduated in October 2017 in Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State. He also holds a Certificate in Christian Ministry from L.I.F.E. Theological Seminary, Ikorodu in 2018.

He is a COREN-certified engineer with expertise in fiber optics deployment for internet broadband access, Solar Energy Solutions, and Surveillance systems.
